What are you doing this weekend?

The Fetish Fair Fleamarket (TM) has a new home, and it's not just a hotel, not just a venue, but a whole city. From January 11th through 13th, 2008, the New England Leather Alliance will bring the biggest leather/fetish/BDSM event in New England to Providence, Rhode Island, where the event will take place in the Rhode Island Convention Center and three (or more) neighboring hotels.
Meg and I will let you know how it goes.

Well the FFF was definitely an adventure. We had a great time and learned and saw a lot. Meg and I went to a BDSM for Beginners class during the day and got to um cough cough, witness, cough cough, some BDSM later that night. The best part had to be the fashion, the bondage and flogging performances at the Masquerade Ball, and the selective S&M sex party we got invited to afterward. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take any photos - for anonymity's sake - but we do have some of us in our scandalous matching corset ensembles.

Not necessarily my scene but I'm glad to have experienced it. The full story takes about an hour to tell in detail. Lets just say I left Providence a little wiser, a little older, and with a lot more bruising.

well i second what kristin had to say. it was really nice to be in such an accepting, open environment. even as a newbie (if newbie doesn't necessarily mean i'm on my way to becoming a convert) i felt very comfortable and free to do or not do whatever i wanted. i can't remember the exact words she used but i'm attempting to quote kristin when i say that i don't want to sound too patriotic or anything, but it's pretty great that we are allowed to do this stuff in this country. that said, there are still lots of antiquated laws on the books that prohibit certain sexual practices--if you're interested, check out the national coalition for sexual freedom for more information.

to sum it all up, any place that sells tack for your human pony, chainmail bras and loincloths, and floggers next to t-shirts with wolves and other nature scenes on them is alright in my book.

freaks of the world unite.
